Antiquing in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach

things to do fort morgan vacation

Ahhh the holidays. There’s nothing like the lights, the hot chocolate, the carols, the endless Hallmark Christmas movies on your DVR, the baking, the present wrapping! The list is endless, but so is the shopping list. This year, instead of clicking Add to Cart on something impersonal, hit the antique stores in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Combining your beach vacation with checking off your to-do list? That’s a win-win! Here’s where to get the best finds this holiday season (and all year long)!

Fairhope & Daphne

  • Daphne Antique Galleria is located in Daphne on Highway 98, and they have you covered from “shabby chic to fine antiques!” Meanwhile, around the corner on Main Street, you’ll find Market on Main with plenty of furniture, tea towels, candles, and adorable antique finds.
  • Fairhope Antiques, Antiques & Uniques of Fairhope, and Olde South Antiques of Fairhope are all located on North Section Street in charming downtown Fairhope.  This boutique section of Fairhope is delightful for window shopping, antiquing, and dining.

Highway 59 & Foley

  • From Fairhope, hit Highway 104 and make your way to the Summerdale Antique Mall (don’t forget to visit the Highway 59 Flea Market while you’re on 59; they’re open weekdays and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 5: 00 p.m.!)
  • The Foley Indoor Flea Market on Highway 59 is also open on weekdays from 9-5 (just not Tuesdays and Wednesdays).
  • When you get hungry, pull over at “Foley’s Landmark Restaurant” on West Lauren Avenue.  The Gift Horse Restaurant and Antiques not only has people talking, but it also has mouths watering.
  • Hollis Ole Crush Antique Mall in Foley will be your next stop where you can pick up costume jewelry and other collectibles, books, and antiques; or if deals are the only thing on your mind, travel the Bargain Hunter’s Thrift Trail.

Gulf Shores & Orange Beach

  • Repeat After Me Consignment on Canal is your antiquing destination in Orange Beach.  As an affordable high-end consignment shop, how could you not visit for furniture, antiques, clothes and accessories, and other desirable items? You’ll also find Fran’s on 59 as you leave Foley and enter into Gulf Shores. Aritsan-lovers will also want  to check out the Prosperous Pelican for local and regional pottery, over 20 jewelry artists and vintage jewelry, and distressed furniture.
  • If you’re looking for Entertainment Districts combined with boutique shopping, be sure to check out Tanger Outlets in Foley, The Wharf in Orange Beach, and SanRoc Cay in Orange Beach.

There are more flea markets and antique shops and malls in sweet, southern Alabama than you’ll know what to do with.  Needless to say, it’s perfect for a antiquing for the holidays (or an antiquing holiday).  With charming places to eat and delightful finds just waiting for you, drive from Daphne to Gulf Shores and see what treasures you uncover.
