About the Restaurant

Sunliner Diner is a classic 1950s American diner that will transport you back to the days of Little Richard and the Everly Brothers. As soon as you step through the door, you’ll be greeted with a smile and will be mesmerized by the details of the ‘50s, from the jukebox and checkerboard floors to the leather booths and brightly colored chairs. Plus, you can’t miss the 1952 Ford convertible inside that doubles as seating! No matter what time of day you come in, you’ll be guaranteed delicious American favorites that offer a little something for everyone.

History

Sunliner Diner is a relatively new addition to the Gulf Shores restaurant scene, as it just opened its doors back in May of 2018. For the last few years, residents and visitors alike have come to adore this eatery. So much, in fact, that the owners were able to open a second location of the Sunliner Diner just a year and a half later in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee!

Menu

As we mentioned, Sunliner Diner is open for every meal, and you can even get breakfast any time of the day! They truly have all your favorite breakfast options, from eggs benedict to griddle options like the famous Sunliner French Toast. Be indulgent with steak and eggs, pick a selection from the “Light & Healthy” menu like avocado toast, or go for a massive Belgian waffle! Of course, they also have tons of sides like hash browns, grits, bacon, and more.

The lunch and dinner menu becomes available starting at 11 a.m. Start out with appetizers like fried green tomatoes or smoked tuna dip, then select a soup or salad if you want something light. Sunliner Specialties on the menu offer a little bit of everything, including meatloaf, fish and chips, chicken and waffles, and country-fried steak. Customize a burger, get a classic sandwich, and pair your meal with sides like mashed potatoes and gravy, French fries, mixed fruit, and more. There’s sure to be something for everyone!

You can’t finish off a classic American meal without some great dessert! Luckily, Sunliner Diner has tons of options for you to choose from. You can go classic with an Authentic 1950’s Shake or get something totally surprising with the Big Tickle Party shake. For the adults, the “Milkshakes on Cloud Nine” section of the menu features alcoholic shakes! You’ll also find the classic sodas and floats that the 1950s are known for, as well as banana splits, sundaes, and cafes and pies make from scratch right in-house.
