This site encompasses the history, nature, and relaxation of Fort Morgan. You will experience everything from Fort Morgan’s beginnings in 1819 to its pivotal role in multiple wars. There are also several nature areas and beaches for you to explore, or take a break in the picnic area, museum, and gift shop.

Fort Morgan Historic Site is open daily. Museum and gift shophouse is open from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and the grounds, beach, and fishing areas operate from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Adult admission is only $7 with discounts available for seniors and children. Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail is a unique and fun way to get a feel for the nature of Fort Morgan

Established in 2003, the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail offers over 15 miles of the most breathtaking Alabama nature. You will be able to wander through seven trails spanning six ecosystems, providing new sights around every turn! There is an appropriate trail for everyone in your party. Watch butterflies in the Butterfly Garden, learn about Native American history on Catman Road, or try to spot an alligator in Rosemary Dunes.

Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail is a unique and fun way to get a feel for the nature of the area. It is also an excellent option if you are on a budget or have a pet, as this free attraction is dog-friendly. Bon Secour’s 7,000 acres are easily accessible along State Highway 180. They are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. There are no admission fees, making this site ideal for staying on your budget.

Weeks Bay is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Conveniently located on Highway 98, it’s easy to reach from any and all Alabama vacation spots.
