Gulf State Park in Alabama is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts vacationing in Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and Fort Morgan. This vast park, sprawling over 6,150 acres, is a paradise for nature lovers, with 28 miles of scenic trails waiting to be explored. Whether you’re up for a hike, a bike ride, or a leisurely stroll, the park’s pathways promise an adventure through the rich biodiversity of the Alabama coast.

Anglers and aspiring fishermen can reel in excitement at the Gulf State Park Fishing and Education Pier, the longest in the Gulf of Mexico and Alabama’s sole public pier on the Gulf. The pier boasts an impressive 2,448 feet of fishing space alongside amenities like an indoor retail store, a concession area, and ample shaded seating. Those new to saltwater fishing can take advantage of the Angler Academy to learn essential skills and regulations. Although Hurricane Sally has impacted the pier, restoration efforts are underway, and the northern stretch is now open for fishing enthusiasts.

Beachgoers can soak up the sun at the Gulf State Park Beach Pavilion, offering three miles of sandy stretches for sunbathing, swimming, and playing. Recently renovated, the pavilion provides air-conditioned restrooms and parking facilities, including ample space for RVs. Future enhancements aim to further improve the visitor experience for events and gatherings.

Parking is available for the full-day or half-day rates, ensuring convenience for all-day adventures. As part of the park’s commitment to environmental stewardship, visitors are encouraged to participate in the Leave Only Footprints initiative to ensure the beaches remain pristine for future guests.

*Note: Due to damage from Hurricane Sally, some facilities may be limited. Please call ahead or check online for the latest park updates and reopening details.
