Where to Get a Thanksgiving Meal on Vacation in Fort Morgan

There are so many delicious restaurants you’ll want to head to check out once you get to Fort Morgan. However, if you’re visiting during the Thanksgiving holiday, you may be looking for something a little more traditional. Or maybe you’re just looking for any restaurant in the area that may be open on the holiday for dinner.

The good news is, you’ll find both of these options during your Thanksgiving stay in Fort Morgan. To make things a little bit easier, we’ve put together a list of some Gulf Shores restaurants open on Thanksgiving.

The Hangout

Located in Gulf Shores, The Hangout is known for offering many of the traditional fixings. Here, you’ll find a buffet complete with a roast turkey and gravy, cranberry sauce, roast prime rib, stuffing, and collard greens. Plus, there is usually a wide selection of desserts including pumpkin pie and more. The buffet runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is $30 for adults and $14 for children, plus children under 5-years-old eat for free. Reservations are recommended, and if you’re not interested in the buffet, The Hangout offers its a la carte menu after 4 p.m.

Thanksgiving at The Hangout is about more than just the food though. This year, all guests will be encouraged to write a letter to service members stationed abroad. This is a great way to come together as a community and support our troops. Additionally, this spot has tons of televisions so you’ll be able to watch football as you stuff your face.

Perdido Beach Resort

If you’re looking for something a little more upscale to suit your taste buds this Thanksgiving, check out the Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach. Skip the crowds and drive in to enjoy the delicious dinner, then head back to your beachfront rental home.

You can choose from a 5-course Thanksgiving meal or from a buffet that serves up traditional options. Everything from turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and other Thanksgiving must-haves will be offered. Included in the buffet are also some non-traditional Thanksgiving items like spaghetti and other offerings.

The cost for the 5-course meal is $41 for adults, $20 for children, and free for those under 4-years-old. The buffet is $34 for adults, $17 for children, and is also free for anyone under 4. Seatings for the buffet happen at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m.

Flora-Bama Annual Thanksgiving Potluck

This option is great if you feel the need to still cook something on Thanksgiving, but can’t do the full turkey dinner by yourself on vacation. This annual tradition goes from noon to 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving and is a lot of fun for the whole community. Located on Perdido Beach Boulevard, a big tent is set up for everyone to come together under.

Flora-Bama Lounge and Oyster Bar provides the main dish, but everyone who comes is encouraged to bring a side dish or even a dessert. There’s live music beginning at 11 a.m. and food is served at 1 p.m. This event is totally free; just bring yourself and a delicious side dish!

If you need help making reservations for any of these spots, our staff can definitely help you out with that. If you have any questions about these locations, what kinds of foods they offer, or anything else we can assist with that as well.

Also, if you’re trying to check and see if any other restaurants in the area are open in the area on Thanksgiving, but aren’t looking for a specific turkey dinner, we’ll help you find something delicious. Enjoy it all while staying at one of our Gulf Shores vacation rental homes. Book online today.
